HOME OF OWEN OWEN AND JANE(JENNIE) FOWLER OWEN
                                   (Home of Jane Owen's Parents)

































                            Jane Owen Harris', father was Owen Owen, (alpha and omega).
                    He was the son of Thomas Owen, Esq.  and Jamima Thomas.  Thomas Owen's father and
                     mother were John Owen and Anna Hayes.
                            On October 2,  1809, a plat of land containing two acres was given by Luke Parker
                     for the sum of 10 shillings  to trustees: vis, Nicholas Parker, William Parker, Thomas
                    Parker, Owen Owen and William Miller for the purpose of erecting a house of worship for
                    use of the Methodist Episcopal church.  John Parker's home was used as a meeting place
                     as for back as  1785.  In  1816, a church was built of logs and called Parker's Meeting
                     House.


                            The town of Owenville flourished before the Civil War.  During the war Owenville
                    was the only community in Sampson County west of Clinton, N.C.  The railroad killed
