Autauga county, served in the Alabama Legislator in  1907.  John Fowler's second wife's
                     name was Elizabeth, no maiden name found,  .  Children of the second marriage:
                     Amelia married Steven Wright,
                      Jesse  married       ?,
                      Sarah married Thomas Cribb,
                      John Jr. married Elizabeth
                      Lucretta,
                      Charlotte,
                     Elizabeth  married Isaac Simmons,
                      Richard married Sallie Stevens,
                      Annie married William Sims,
                      and  Leonard.
                            William Fowler, Sr.  (1768-1850) married Elizabeth Smith in 1794.  Their
                     daughter Jennie (Jane) married Owen Owen, the son of Thomas Owen, Esquire.
                            The daughter, Jane, of Owen and Jennie Fowler Owen, married Jesse Richardson
                     Harris of Jamestown, North Carolina.  (Jane and Jesse are the parents of William Henry
                     Harris and the grandparents of Abbie.)





                                                         THE OWENS



                            Sir John Owen, said to be descended from Llewellyn the Great,  "The last Prince
                     of Wales", Sir John was one of Prince Rupert's Cavaliers.  His family received many grants
                     of land from King Charles II.  (see insert: A brief history of Sir John Owens)
                            John Owen, Sr., son of Sir John Owen, came to America.  He came first to
                     Pennsylvania, then to Maryland and then to North Carolina.  He settled in Bladen County
                     on the banks of the historic Cape Fear River.  His two sons were Colonel Thomas Owen
                     and John Owen.  Colonel Thomas Owen reached great distinction in Civil and military
                     affairs of the colony.  He was a member of many assemblies at the most critical period of
                     the state's history.  He was a delegate to the Hillsboro Convention of 1775-1776.
                            Colonel Thomas Owen had two sons; James Owen, became a general and by
                     profession, a planter.  John Owen, became Governor of North Carolina.  He was elected
                     from Balden County in 1826.
                            Govenor John Owen of North Carolina presided over the first Whig Party
                     National Convention ever held in the United States for the purpose of selecting a
                     candidate to run for the Presidency of the United States.  The year was 1840.  The
                     convention was held in the city of Harrisburg, PA  William Henry Harrison was nominated
                     by the convention as the Whig Party nominee for President.  Mr. Harrision invited the
                     convention chairman, Governor John Owen, to be his running mate for Vice President.
                     Governor Owen declined to be a candidate.  John Tyler was then offered the position and
                     he accepted.
                            William Henry Harrison was elected the 9th president of the United States.  His
                     running mate, John Tyler, was elected the Vice President.  William Henry Harrison had
